RACE INSTRUCTIONS

Race Start Point

All entrants should come to the field in Beacon Park adjacent to Bunkers Hill Car Park where you will find all race facilities.

The start line for the 10k is on the Western Bypass road adjacent to the park. Please allow 10 minutes to walk from the field to the start line.

The start line for the fun run is on the same field as the race village.

Toilets are provided on the field but ensure you use these in good time to get to the start line as there may be queues!

Number Collection

All numbers will need to be collected, either on Saturday 6th September 10:00 to 16:00 or on the day of the race from 08:30. Collection will be from dedicated marquees in Beacon Park which will be clearly signed. Please collect your number in good time. You will be emailed in the next few days with a QR code which you should bring with you to collect your number.

T-Shirts

T-shirts are only available for those who have bought in advance on the entry portal and can be collected from the dedicated collection point on the day of the race.

Safety

The marshals on the course are there for your safety. Please follow their instructions at all times. For your own safety, the use of headphones is banned (unless bone conducting). Please DO NOT use them.

Medical

If you are unwell - DON'T RUN. St John Ambulance will be in attendance at the race and anyone feeling unwell is asked to report to the nearest marshal who will arrange for help to be summoned. Please make sure you fill in your emergency details and any medical conditions or allergies on the back of your running number.

Toilets and Bag Storage

Toilets and bag drop will be available in the Race Village.

Club Stands

A number of clubs will have a stand/marquee at the event for their members. If your club requires a stand please let us know so we can allocate you a space. Email: 10klichfield@gmail.com.

Drinks

The weather can be warm in September so make sure you're properly hydrated before the start and take on drinks during the run. Bottled water is available on the course at 5k and at the finish.

The 10K Course

Please take care whilst running the course, there are some pot holes and uneven surfaces. Some of the lanes are narrow and crowding can sometimes occur.

After 2 hours marshals will be stood down and the Western Bypass will be opened to traffic. However, if you are still on the course at this time it will still be possible to finish but please take care and use the path alongside the Western Bypass to the pelican crossing opposite the entrance back into the park.

The Fun Run Course

Please note that the Fun Run Course has been changed for this year. The course now consists of two loops in Beacon Park, the distance is similar, around 2k. More of the course is now on grass surfaces so please be aware that there may be some uneven areas. Please remember that adults should accompany any children under 9 and should be with them at all times whilst on the course.

The Finish

Please leave the finishing area as quickly as possible. Bottled water and bananas will be available at the finish and a commemorative medal will also be given to all finishers.
